FAB Strategies by John Pagano, PH.D., OTR/L are evidence based individualized environmental adaptations, activities, and deep pressure touch that implement positive behavioral support to improve self-control in children with behavioral and developmental challenges.
The FAB Strategies form can be used to promote self-control form provides an individualized goal-directed program that improves self-control, mental health, & attention.
The FAB Strategies form utilizes four sections.
Section A is environmental adaptations providing structure.
Section B use positive behavioral support, neuropsychology, puppets, stories, comics, and art activities.
Section C is deep touch pressure, body awareness, self-control & music.
Section D is dynamic balance, cardiovascular, sensory processing deep pressure combined with linear movement, and sequential bimanual physical activity.
Dr. John Pagano has worked as a registered and licensed pediatric occupational therapist for twenty-five years. He has a B.S. in Occupational Therapy, M.S. in Special Education, and a Ph.D. in Human Development & Family Studies.
Dr. Pagano has certificates in Early Childhood Mental Health, Co-counseling, Neuro-Developmental (Bobath) Treatment for Cerebral Palsy and Infants, Early Childhood Mental Health, and is a DECA Recognized Local Program Mentor.
Dr. Pagano provides occupational therapy services in the birth-to-three program, sensory integration clinic, special needs preschool, group homes, and psychiatric hospital schools. He also provides international continuing education courses to occupational therapists, mental health providers, physical therapists, speech and language pathologists, teachers, pediatricians, and parents on helping clients with behavioral and sensory integration challenges.
John is also a proud father of a five year old son.
